The second of three short stories published in 1971 featuring the Puzzle Club, this one appeared in the June issue of Playboy magazine.
Once again, three suspects, three occupations, one also sells drugs on the side. The interesting twist here is that Ellery finds not only the solution intended by his fellow Puzzle Club members, but two others, as well. For this one, a knowledge of detective fiction authors (Chandler and Fletcher) helps, as does knowing the original derivation of those surnames.
