EQMM July 1967

Here comes the second outing of the Puzzle Club with Ellery’s involvement. In the first Puzzle Club story, Ellery met three of the four other members. Interestingly, the same missing character from the first story is missing from the second story. Will Ellery ever meet up with this mysteriously absent member? Is there a reason this member is out of the picture? Is this a show of a desire for continuity in Queen’s writings?

Also, the problem Ellery puts forth to the club members has to do with dead presidents. What is this obsession of a Queen with presidents?
